Kin Tsugi is a traditional Japanese technique used to repair broken ceramics and applying gold or silver to the crack.

Often connected with the Tea Ceremony tradition, Kin Tsugi follows the philosophy of Wabi-sabi - a world view centred on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete".

In my practice these principles are essential.
Transformative repair and the joy of imperfection becoming an approach to life in general.

Applying and passing on - Workshop in Helsinki in January and February 2018.
